Doing household chores can increase the chances of success of IVF treatment

A study that compared the lifestyles of women undergoing IVF treatment showed that women who led an active life had more chances of success with the treatment. Medical experts believe that exercise is beneficial because it protects the body from releasing too much insulin in the blood stream, which can be detrimental for the development of eggs.

Women, who are active, go for brisk walks, do moderate form of exercises and do household chores including, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning and gardening.

Doctors advise all pregnant women to restrict on the type of activity, but there are no specific guidelines for women who are trying to conceive. Some people feel ample rest is necessary to conceive and cut back exercises months before conception, which can lead to sluggishness and weight gain. The study found that leading an active lifestyle, especially, a year before trying the fertility treatment, increases the chances of IVF treatment success by three times.

My fertility Dr also doesnt suggest bed rest during the 2ww in ivf treatments... except rest for 2-3 after the proc if required by the patient. he recommends doing regular / mild tasks throughout the 2ww period

for my 1st IVF, i took rest for 2 days and then largely followed my normal routine including commuting to work..but it didnt work out..

in my 2nd IVF, i took things easy, left my job and took rest..ofcourse i did mild chores like cutting vegs etc, but largely took it easy
