A study survey conducted reveals that most women seeking help with fertility are often clueless about the fertile time window. Knowledge about when to time the act of conception increases the chances of conception. An average menstrual cycle of a woman lasts between twenty-eight to thirty-two days. This includes the period before and after the menstruation. The cycle starts on the first day of the menstruation. Ovulation starts between the 11th and 21st day since LMP (last menstrual period). The fertile window starts from the 5th day before ovulation and continues until the day of ovulation. A woman has about five to six days of fertile days in each cycle. There are changes in the body of a woman to prepare for pregnancy. Look out for these signs to know that you are fertile. The cervix position changes, cervix mucus is thin and slippery, enabling the sperm to swim to the ovum for fertilization, tender breast, mild abdominal ache, light spotting and increase in sex drive. Keep in mind that each woman’s cycle differs and so does the fertile window. [/FONT]

Conception is quite low when attempting to conceive after ovulation. Medical experts recommend couples to try every day during the fertile time window for higher probability of conception during that cycle.

Do remember that a body takes time to return to normal rhythm if you have just stopped taking contraceptive pills. Make sure you include other factors to boost the chances of success with a good amount of physical activity, a well-nourished diet and a stress-free environment.
