.I have PCOS and did not get my periods for 3 months. On 1st June II got my periods. I am taking homeopathy meds and that do said that he is nt giving medicine to kickstart my periods and asked me to wait till I get it naturally.Meds are only to regularise the hormonal imbalance..I waited for 3 months and finally got my periods on 1st june..
Now its been more than 10 days and I am still bleeding..Its not heavy but mild bleeding for past 5 6 days..During my peridos Initial 2 days there was only spotting and later for 5 6 days heavy bleeding..Now for last 4 5 days again mild bleeding..
Can anyone tell if anyone has faced this ever..I am worried. I spoke to my homeo doc and he again wants me to play the wait game and says this is all a part of process of hormone adjustment.
Does any of you know any home remedy for this :(

    hi hivid,

The excess bleeding is due to the uterus wall thickness as you didn't get periods for 3 months. But if you feel tired better consult a good gynaecologist.

Do take iron rich fruits & vegetables in your diet
    Do exercise regularly
Dhalia (chutney dal) is said to be good. SO powder some & mix with little sugar and have it.
Ragi / wheat flour porridges are also said tobe good.
Do take garlic regularly in the night by boiling it in milk. It is very good for all harmonal related problems for ladies and is advised by Natural Medicine.

go through the below links which will throw more light upon the issues faced during PCOs & overbleeding.

I had a similar problem 2 years ago and started with spotting for few days and bleeding continued ,i consulted a gynae she did full blood work then an ultrasound to know i had a cyst. But she gave me hormone tablets with different combination every week but my period lasted for 30 days ,my doctor only told me to continue taking the tablets and advice me not to get stressed out.Tablets only gave me side effects like pain in the right side of my stomach.......one of our family friend whose is in her late 60's visited us when i shared my problem she told that she faced the same problem some years back as per the naturopathy doctors advice she started taking banana flower which helped her to regularize her periods.
Clean and cut the banana flower as you would do for making curry boil the water add banana flower ,some salt and turmeric .After boiling it for 5-8minutes drain and drink that water.I did this for 2 to 3 days after that my periods stopped.Even now every week i include banana flower in my diet.It regularizes the hormones! In addition to that once your periods stops follow a active life style ,include lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet.Avoid sugar and high calorie diet like pizza and fried foods.

    Hi,

I had ovarian cysts, which were revealed thru a USG test. I started ayurvedic medication. did not get my periods for 2.5 months. On 10th June I got my periods. When bleeding didnt stop even after ten days doc told me to go for USG again to see if there is any improvement or not. Cysts are no more present in the ovaries. But the endometrium is thick [10mm]. Now even on 22nd day I am bleeding. In ayurveda there are no coagulants which stop bleeding soon. I'm taking an ayu tab[a coagulant] but it is not making much difference.

I want to know will the bleeding continue until the uterus lining is shed? Please reply. I am very tensed.

Hi avi, I too had the same experience but in my case the bleeding didn't stop and finally I ended up going to allopathic doctor only. In ayurveda they gave me a medicated ghee (which is very powerful) but in my case it didn't work much. But every body reacts differently so if you feel tiredness better consult a good doctor and let the bleeding stop through medications, then you continue with your ayurvedic treatment. Best wishes.

    HI,
Yes my doctor said it will bleed until the lining is shed completely. I was bleeding for 15 days and it stopped on its own.. Dont worry, you will be fine..

I have PCOS and have faced bleeding problems like not starting periodically and when it does start, the bleeding does not stop on its own (I used to wait for 2 months for my bleeding to stop and would go on birth control pills or Prometrium). I tried homeopathy, ayurveda, etc. They never worked for me.
This is what seems to be working for me - Metformin (I get yearly checkup to make sure I am not getting any side effects of metformin), regular Exercise and Low GI food.
    Good luck!
