Hi,

I am also diagnosed with PCOD. I took metmorphin when I was in U.K but till date i hve not conceived. some say it does not help in conceiving.
I am also looking for a good doctor in chennai who has dealt with successful cases of PCOD. If anybody has any info plz let me know.

Hi ,

Is this about Polycystic Ovarian Disease ? There is a similar thread PCOS .
PCOS is not a complex condition , in most cases. You start to gain weight all of a sudden and periods become irregular as cysts get formed, so ovulation does not occur and hence periods do not come. People may also have difficulty in conceiving. Thats it in layman terms.

The solution is diet and exercise, a planned one if possible, by going to the gym and consulting the trainer on a cardio based exercise plan to burn the fat. Also a diet plan to consume no more than 1200 calories a day. Whole wheat, skim milk, egg whites, sprouts, salads and soup, fruits like apple, melons etc are some things to consider in your meals. Diet is important, i had a complete diet chart :) whew !

I had this too, i followed a diet and exercise plan given by the gym therapist. Lost 8 kgs in 2.5 months , periods became ok 17 days after i started exercising for abt an hour a day , 6 days a week. Btw, the aim is to lose weight gradually, atleast 3 kgs a month.

If you need any more info, PM me and i will help you out with it if i know.
Also, please consult a good gynaec if you havent yet.

Dear all
me too diagnosed with PCOD
What prasanna told is correct
we have to reduce our weight
metformin is the only medicine for that
it wont help u to get conceive
it will help u to correct ur metabolic syndrome
my gynec told me to do one test called iNsulin Resistance
in that we can come to know abt our metabolic syndrome and it will confirm ur PCOD level
I started going for GYM and with in 6 months i lost 10 kgs
Dont skip meals and metformin tablet too
its not a major problem
we can correct it through proper diet and exercise

If u hate to go to GYM do some aerobics @ Home
aerobics is also a good remedy for that
