Navratri is commencing from 19 September.So r u all ready with Puja thalis and Garba to welcome MATA.Ahmedabad is one of the greatest places to enjoy Navratri. All kinds of Rasa-Garbas, Dandia ras etc. are practiced in this period, feasting and fasting are important cultural aspects of this day, and various rituals are performed at temples of the 9 Goddesses of Hinduism.

Dear Nainika,

Oh yes! With Navrathri round the corner, we are planning the 'Dolls Display' (Golu in Tamil), inviting friends and neighbours for Haldi-Kumkum, chanting Shlokas...

People will also invite us to visit their homes to admire their dolls and generally have fun, dancing the Garba and singing Her praise...

I keep a golu here having collected so many dolls every year when we visit India.
I invite families. Here it is a big affair for 9 days. This is the best time of the year when we get to meet old friends with whom you have not been in touch since the previous navarathri and making new friends.
Gujarat is very famous I have heard.

We sure have geared up for Navratri! Our town Gandhidham in Kutch can sure give Ahmedabad a run for its money as far as Navratri is concerned!

I am a garba enthusiast and in our Lions Club Navratri Mahotsav it is known that "Garba starts and ends with Dinaz!"

Am eagerly looking forward to these 9 nights of dancing! It's the only exercise I get throughout the year! Sure reduces my waistline!

Have got 11 sets of chaniya-cholies and when I stand in front of them, trying to decide which one to wear, my hubby jokes "Wear the blue one and then come home in the break and change into the red one".
