Hi Sambavi, Speaking of semi precious stones, you remind me of Rajasthan, specially Jaipur which is famous for them. I do not know if Gujarat also is a hub for them; but in Jaipur you can find a lot of jewelleries made of semi precious stones and also unique miniature paintings with crushed semi precious stonesor gemstones. They are exceptionally beautiful and is considered a souvenier from Rajasthan. I've got a few mitiature paintings to show you.

Are you saying about these? Can you name a few semi precious jewels which you are looking for?

Hi Sambavi, these Gem Stone Paintings are made of crushed Gemstones like Amethyst, Turquise, Red Jasper, Yellow Agate, Re & Green Adventurine, Garnet etc. Hey, I'm just noting it down from the Gem-stone painting I have, because at the rear side of each such paintings, small pieces of the Gemstones are affixed with the names so that you know which stones has brought which color for the painting.

The price of the gem stone paintings depend upon the size and the detailing. It can be from Rs. 100 to thousands of rupees I guess.

I really look forward to information on semi precious stone ornaments you are saying about. Any pics?

Hi Ishani, Lovely painting and thanks for the information. Can't believe, precious stones can be used to make colors for paintings. Sambavi, the semi precious stones you are looking for are also given to be worn by astrologer's, right? Are you looking for ornaments made from them or just the stones for astrological reasons.

By the way, how many of you here think precious stones suggested by astrologers can change fortunes?

Hi Sambavi, even I'd like to know where semi-precious stone ornaments are available in Gujarat. I most of the times get them through my friend from Rajasthan - Jaipur and even Udaipur. The jewelery designs are usually priced between Rs.50 - Rs.2000.
