Moving to Gujarat

Hello,
We are planning to move to Gujarat from Maryland, and we are looking for a decent neighborhood to purchase our house. We are open to apartments or villa. Can anyone reccomend good areas in ahmedabad and Baroda? Are there any gated NRI colonies set up? We want to live in a secure, gated community with power back-up. I hope to hear from you soon.

Also, if there are others who have recently shifted, I would love to hear about your experience and how you have adjusted.

Hello Lily, Welcome back

There are several good schemes in Ahmedabad suitable for NRIs returning to India. Amongst the most in-demand and posh localities in Ahmedabad now is the Prahladnagar Garden area, off 100 ft, Anandnagar Rd., Satellite.

I know of a few schenes there which has a sizable number of NRIs investment. This includes 2 prominent residential apartment building or gated societies from the SAFAL Group - Safal Parivesh (3BHK, 2010 sq.ft) and Safal Param (4-BHK, 3500 sq. ft with extra servant room).

These are excellent properties (mentioned by Hetal) in my knowledge. There is also Indraprasth 5 & 6 in that area other than Green Acres project from the Pacifica group. Both these projects are yet to be occupied fully/ under construction. But to my knowledge, Safal Parivesh (I've friends there) has very good security arrangement and a good numnber of NRIs have also invested there.
