Festival - Kutch Mahotsav

Kutch Mahotsav is a guided tour of Kutch and is organized by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat. This festival takes place during February or March and is a six-day affair.

Kutch Mahotsav provides one with an opportunity of visiting all the venerated places in Kutch. This festival gives us a glimpse of the magic of Gujarat rich with its beauty, tradition, culture, nostalgia, ethos and spirit.

Bhuj acts as the center of all activities during this annual festival. The major pilgrimage sites that Kutch Mahotsav takes one to are Bhadreswar, Koteshwar and Narayan Sarovar.

Kutch Mahotsav comprises of an extended tour of the entire Kutch peninsula. It aims to promote tourism in the region.

Kutch Mahotsav offers a magnificent view of the tranquil beaches, rustic palaces and forts, beautiful landscapes and arid desert areas. The experience gets even more unforgettable with the delicious local cuisine and exquisitely crafted artistic works.

Kutch Mahotsav is held in the month of February and the last day of the festival generally coincides with Shivaratri. It indeed is a huge fair where the lifestyle and culture of eighteen different tribes of the peninsula can be explored.

Bhajans, kirtans and the Langa Desert music make the fair vibrant.

During the Kutch Mahotsav of Gujarat, one can visit some of the very ancient cities and towns as well as some very famous temples of Kutch. Handicrafts made by local tribes are on display during this festival.

Various cultural programmes including folk songs and dances are arranged so that the visitors get a glimpse of the rich cultural heritage of Gujarat. Kutch Mahotsav is conducted in the month of February or March and continues for six glorious days.
