Life after death...

Hey friends this is a topic in which none would be able to give a confident answer.....Hey so im not sure if its true or not......But havent you heard ppl dying for sometime and coming back they say there is something afterwards...Most of them talk about a dark tunnel and a big light at its end....They even say things that happened around when they were dead for a few minutes..This happens during anestesia.....But i havent seen someone presonaly....All are curious about this so lets hear what everyone got to say hence i start this small thread

Yes, I read about it before. It's called near death experience and most of the ppl do say that they saw a white tunnel with light at the end.

Some scientists try to explain it away saying that its all in the brain and its chemicals playing tricks. However, when you start to go more into their studies, it's clear that even they don't know the complete answer.

One thing is true tho---there is something after death. Maybe another life where the soul stays forever 'alive' in presence of God.

after i lost my dad i was so curious to know his journey and read garuda puranam first and then i was searching for what next and what could have happened in last moment..during that period i came to know about this near death expieriences and i was really amazed to see that and i really thought how nice it would be if my dad is back..i hope thats true as in a couple of websites its true narrations somehow i belive it

I always wondering what is beyond death when the physical body perishes, does the soul really exist ?

Interestingly , the near-death experience ,which many have experienced ,is always depicted as light seen at the end of the tunnel.Now no one is sure if this is pure hallucination , mind playing games ,or these people have indeed been to another realm,the closest one can get to knowing what happens after death.

There is also a possibility that since this notion of life beyond death is very popular in the science fiction genre , a lot of them could have hallucinated it anticipating this is what they are supposed to be seeing.
We often have visions of suppressed thoughts and memories which liven up as dreams.Similarly, when we are imbrued with this school of thought where life exists beyond death and the light signifies a new beginning,it is not clear if anyone has actually seen these light or this is just subconscious imprint.

Well, it would be difficult to find evidence of what happens after death but I am sure everyone would know and experience it when the right time comes.

I beleive in life after death..maybe because I like living. How boring life would be after death;)
I happened to read a book,more than a decade back, which deals with the experiences of people who have died. They come and talk through a medium(I forgot the term). I still remember an incident mentioned in the book, where the a lady says she happened to reunite with the man she loved; but never could marry him because she had a ailing mother to take care of. I also remember the about reading absence of sexuality in the love after death...just pure love.

My logical mind says that I would just decay, just like other living beings in this world and there is nothing to it.

but my spiritual mind and heart keeps me upbeat saying that, there is an after life - I might meet the creator, if I was good.He might keep me with him if I had passed his tests. I might be born again, if I did not meet his expectations. I WILL NOT go to hell, as I did not do anything to deserve that yet and I tend to be that way

I also liked Betty Eadie's "Embraced by the Light" on this subject.

"Karma and Disease" by Swami Vishnu Devananda compiles medical texts, and ancient scriptures to relate that the illnesses people suffer from and the births we get here are products of actions done in previous births.
