Default Re: Do you eat while cooking?

Hi,
I do not become a guinea pig, I make my hubby that ha ha ha....
Seriously, I started cooking only after marriage. My mil always offers the food cooked (almost all Tamilians do this), whatever it is, to God first. So I developed the habit of not tasting while cooking and that is continuing. And also, it is more interesting and appetising to set the table and eat sitting down is more interesting thn popping something or other in the mouth. Also it is not healthy too, you eat more than you should.
You know what my sister does? She goes on popping the food while making (like eating pieces of rotis or dosai while making), while she cookes. When we start eating, she makes us all feel guilty by not eating properly as her tummy is already full. How is that?

This thread reminded me of what I used to do when I was a kid.. My mom just takes the chicken out of stove and there I am standing next to her with the plate to " just taste it " !! Espcially fish fry.. I would have like had 2 peices or more much before the actual Lunch !!
Now when I cook.. I see my hubby doing that !! Gives me goose bumps that history is repeating !!

Hello all
I never eat while cooking nor do I taste or allow anyone to taste
But the dish turns out good by the grace of Annapoorna Mata.
This is very very rarely sometimes the salt might be a bit more but managable, never had an apportunity to throw the food away.

No way.....

I HATE THE HABIT.... I DISCOURAGE ANYONE ESLE FROM DOING IT TOO.

Tasting for seasoning is ok, but the amount must be miniscule.
