Hello, I live in USA and the place where I live have many Indians. Im looking to sell homemade foods (like pickles,powders etc) based upon pre-order. I want to know how profitable will the business be and how the pricing should be. Please give tips if anyone has done this and suggest some tips.
For pricing check the prices at the local Indian grocery store and mark-down by 50 cents to a dollar based on your raw material cost. Profits will depend on how cheap you are able to source the raw material. For eg if you know someone with a mango tree in their yard, you can buy mangoes at a cheaper rate than the market, so your profit will be more for mango pickle. Pay more attention to sanitation procedures as laws are pretty strict in US.
