Thanks for shairng Arch1209. I started reading the thred.....not even half way..one ro two paragraphs.into it...it felt very familiar..........dint read it further..will have to read it again. dint read it in full so dont know wot it said..but one fo the myths.........people asume to be true. Myth: People who often talk about committing suicide....wont. They do. please dont tell them off thinking they wont do it. They do it or not...i dont know. but that myth is defenetly not correct. dont beleive that. if you see someone talking about committing suicide often.........help them. take them seriosly.
Very heartfelt and touching post..Can't even begin to imagine how much he would have suffered..and probably continues to. That guilt and the feeling that despite being qualified to,he couldn't save his brother. The scars for a lifetime.
I am sorry Naksh that this triggered some painful memories for you. I hope you are able to heal. Yes, there are lot of myths associated with suicide and seeking mental health based services and like you rightly pointed out if someone ever talks about suicide it needs to be taken very seriously. When folks talk it is their way of calling out for help. We need a lot of education around mental health issues.
Very heart-touching. Those who go through this know how painful it is to lose a loved one and having to live with the social stigma and ridicule.Society puts the blame for the loss on the survivors and considers the act as a failure on the part of the victim and family to deal with certain issues.Societal stigma puts enormous stress on the bereavement process making it difficult for family members to come to terms with the whole thing. P.S:Arch...is that you in the Avatar ?
