Do we have Cerelac equivalent in US?

    Dear friends;
    My LO likes cerelac, and I am running out of the stock of cerelac that I brought from India. I checked patel's . They charge $ 7 for a small tin and has just one flavour which she dislikes.
    Do we get anything like that in US?
    Pls help

    I would say experiment with different grains and fruits to find combinations she likes. Gerber, Beech Nut and other brands has readymade baby cereals but you can also use the real grains (actual oatmeal, not oatmeal baby cereal). Mix this with some fruit. In my opinion this is much better since you are making it from scratch and therefore no additives or preservatives. May not exactly replicate the taste of cerelac though.

    Sindu; I brought gerber rice cerals with fruit flavour and mixed it with whole milk. Initially she showed her face and was spitting out, but then she succumbed to hunger and had it. I will try using real oatmeals soon. And yeah, you are so right it no way taste like cerelac:).

    Why don't you try the instant oatmeal packets in the fruit and cream variety. Just a thought.

    there are many cornflakes,honey oats with which you can add in milk and give a try...

    If you want you can put them in a mixie for few minutes and then add milk so that it is very easy to eat..(BTW, how old is your kid, it matters right?)

    Try gerber's oatmeal or rice cereal. they are not as tasty as cerelac but they do the job! My son loved cerelac too when we bought some but Indian stores here donthave much variety and they dont always have it handy! I gave him regular oatmeal for babies. Hope she likes it!
