I am sailing on same boat. My in-laws never call me and expect from me to call them.some time my Dh travels for work and I stay alone with my kids but that time also they don't care to ask me how I manage without my Dh with 2 kids? They always give missed call to my hubby and immediatley,my hubby will go out for a walk to talk with them.
