    Default Cooking Pulses in microwave

Has anybody tried cooking pulses in microwave ? Like tuvar dal or moong dal ?

Is it power efficient ? Or do you prefer cooker ?

How do you cook the pulses ?

Yes ..I do agree with Supriya..
For coking dhals, Our pressure-cooker is the best..
If you soak it and cook, it wil be cooked fastly..

    Hi,
me too prefer cooker for cooking dhalls like toordhall or moong.
I've tried cooking masoor dhall in microwave and it will get done in flat 20 mins.
keep it in a microwave safe bowl with water and few drops of oil to avoid overflowing and stir it once or twice in between.

Cooker is the best. However, I do not soak them when cooking South Indian food because soaked dals generally don't yield tasty food. I heard that from elders and I continue that tradition.

Cooker is the best. The daals boil easily and can be smashed very well if in cooker.

I have nothing new to add than what the others have already said here. Nothing can beat our good old Pressure cooker from India. It saves time and is simple.Though, microwave is handy, I feel the completeness only when I pressure cook the pulses.
