Hi Vaishu,
Your menu sounds so good.
We had zuchini and moong dhal kootu, rasam, bhindi fry along with karivepaku (curry patha) podi sent by my aunt from Chennai and other usual sides.
No idea about tonight, may go out to eat.
I noticed that you and Varloo have asked about tofu preparation. I generally buy a large chunk of tofu and store in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Tofu If using tofu for dry preparations, place a weight on it so the excess water oozes out of it. Now cut the tofu into cubes, size is of your wish.
I generally then stir fry these cubes in a little oil in a wok and spice it with masalas. The masala used depends upon what you wish to incorporate the tofu into. For a veggie fry, I either spice it up with chili, garlic and salt or sambar powder and salt or even with tomatoes, garlic-ginger paste, chilli-coriander powders and salt. The idea is to infuse the masalas into tofu as tofu generally does not absorb the masalas easily.
For the kidney beans combo...I season out mustard and urad in some oil, add chopped onions and garlic. When they turn transparent, I add the boiled and drained kidney beans, salt and desired spices like salt, chilli and garlic paste and fry everything for a couple of minutes and add the already stir fried tofu pieces and garnish with coriander leaves:)

ymmmm...yummmyy....
Chithra, you are being very unfair. You cannot be listing all these goodies here and not give us. I think you have to start soon making all these yummy things and send it to your faithful IL fans through Fedex! When MTR can , so can you. The only other alternative for you is to send us all free flight tickets so that we can come to Chennai!!!
