Ok - I am stumped - what is "thotakura" - is it like spinach? I am so tired of cooking the regular spinach, collard greens - I speak tamil - so is there a tamil word for this? I can check with the local indian grocery store if I know the hindi word for it. Help...

Dear Shobha,

Iam not sure of Tamil Translations for "Thotakura" but go thru the following website for translations in different languages.

Edible Amaranth

Dear Ladies,

We had thakkali rasam, urulai kizhangu kari, thayir sadham and pulikaichal for dinner today. The dessert was pealed nungu.

Sorry for intruding into your dinner conversation. I have written about Milaku Kuzhambu and Paruppu Thuvaiyal in my Wednesdays Thread.

Those of you who have finished your dinner may join me there. You may click the Milaku Kuzhambu link in my signature below.

regards,

Take a look at this link (the second picture) for the edible amaranth. I think it is 'Mulai keerai'.

Was not well and so no cooking for the past 3 days. Yesterday it was garlic rasam and potato fry for dinner.
Palak paneer and chapathy for the kids' lunch and chikku mil shake for breakfast.
Planning to make pani puri for evening and should think of something for dinner again.
