Hello Vaishu, Pavithra and all others...

Sorry guys, I keep playing truant every now and then:) But that does not mean I have not been eating:)) I just didn't get time come here...
Lunch was small onion and tomato sambar, plantain fry, cauliflower veggie spiced with garlic and chilli and bahala bath...pickle, papad and banana...the usual sides!
I had some left over rice that I had cooked rather soft for the little one when she was here. That is why the bahala bath!
I have some potato palya and chutney left over from the weekend...had made them for the dosas. So, planning to make some toasted sandwich with the potato and chutney filling. I have the old fashioned toaster thingy from India, you hold it on gas and it makes these nice looking puffy sandwiches :)
Looks like our Vandhana is having a gala time in India. Hope she writes a list of all the goodies she is getting to eat there!!
Pavithra, I don't think we get the M- pesto here. Must think of asking anyone coming from England to get us a couple! What make is it and what is the full name for that ready sauce? Do let us know.

Bye all.......L, Kamla

Kamla-your menu sounds yummy. Now it seems that you are cooking elaborate meals, good.
I have been preparing the usual Sounth Indian dinner for almost one and a half month, asmy fil was here. Now back to new dishes now.
Made gobi manchurian and roti 2 days back. Yesterday it was dosai and small onion chutney for the lunch box. Lunch was drumstick sambhar and pavakkai and onion poriyal. Same for dinner-Aravindh and Archana eat well then only.
Today it was kara kuzhambu rice and potato poriya (without chillipd) for lunch box and dosai for breakfast.
Dinner? must plan something.

Hello,

Lunch was veggie lasagne followed by fruit yoghurt.

Supper was grilled cheese...wholewheat bread topped with cheddar, tomato, onion, coriander and for me, a green chilli:)

hi all,
I peep in here sometimes when racking my brains what to cook, what to cook!??!
But today thought I'll write in as well..
Varloo, saw your post about gobi manchurian and decided.

I too made gobi and carrot manchurian a couple of days ago. Got a packet of Knorr "Chinese Manchurian" in the Good Housekeeping mag last month, so decided to use it as there was practically no veggies at home and I was too busy since few days with work! Came out real yummy, if I may say so myself ;) (hubby too said as much :) ).

Again no veggies yesterday, so made dahi kaddhi (first time!) and that too was relished - with plain hot white rice and hot masaledar french fries to go with it.

Have to definitely buy some vegetables today, or else nothing nourishing to eat.

Btw, Varloo, I thought you had only one son?! you have a daughter as well?

Kamla, I must say, your menu is usually so complete! How do you manage to make so many things for each meal?!!

Chalo, more later...
best
hasita

Dear Hasita,
I have only one son, that is right. Archana is my niece, my brother's daughter. She did her PG here in Chennai and stayed with me. Well, she resembles me a lot than her mother and anybody seeing us for the first time will think that she is my daughter only. I shall try to bring her for the next meet, she was there for the first meet. She is also an ILiite, of course (archukoratty).
If you like soup, you can try the tomato noodle soup (Chithra's recipe) It is a meal in itself. I just love it. Also try Minestron soup. Both are very filling soups.
