Don't you need to pre-boil the soaked peas? Would it get cooked well by directly cooking along with brinjal? For the brinjals are very tender and will get cooked easily, while you are using dried peas by just soaking.

M. | Hi Malathy,
No need to preboil.Since they are split peas(like channa dal or any other dal),they dont need to be preboiled.Just need to be soaked in warm water for 30 to 60minutes just like we soak channadal. We can also try this curry with channa daal. They cook real fast.
cheers,
vaishu

Hi Vaishu, looks like you are keeping this thread rolling...sorry about that! It has been crazy here:) Atleast Pavithra gave you some company.
BTW Pavithra...your yesterday's menu sounded real yummy...tomato and mascarpone pesto sauce...oh wow....how can it not be good?:) Did you make it yourself from scratch or can you get that sauce in UK ready made? If you have the recipe, pass it on. I love mascarpone , it makes any dish yummy. But then, why not, it is almost like butter and just as rich:( That is the only reason I avoid it :((
Even we had an Italian dinner yesterday.... a minestorne soup, salad, rolls and ravioli di portobello. Very delicate and sumptuous. My grandson had macaroni cheese and even the little one enjoyed the bread and macaroni bits! Lunch was veggie bath and cucumber raita.
Today, we were invited to a Satyanarayana puja and the lunch was very good. Dinner, made puris and potato bhaji in honor of grandson:)

HI all,
Dear Kamala, missed u from past couple of days in this thread.Good to see u back.Today's breaskfast,we had crispy Kreme doughnuts. And for lunch we are going to have karaikudi chicken(take out from curry leaf restuarant, indian),cabbage thoran with rice and roti.My husband worked whole day yday at work and just for change and surprise he took me to the restuarant yday.We didn't have anything in the restuarant sincei had already prepared for dinner, but just got takeout for karaikudi chicken(my favourite curry).I ordered this curry whenever we visit that restuarant.
If anyone knows/aware of the recipe for this karaikudi chicken, plz post it.I lov it!
AAPKE KITCHEN MEY???????????????????

hi kamla,
yes we do get the tomato and mascorpone pesto sauce ready made here.i just use few vegetables and sphagetti noodles and make it with the sauce.its so delicious...
first cook the sphagetti pasta along with the vegetables in boiling water and when they are done strain them.alternatively u can steam the veggies of ur choice in mw.and cook the pasta seperately.
in another pan heat the required amount of tomato mascorpone sauce add salt once it starts boiling switch off and add it to the vegetable sphagetti mixture.blend it well.
sprinkle with cheese!!!!
its very easy to make and i am sure with such a tasty sauce it will definitely be a hit!!!u can add a bit of chilly powder if u wish to.
luv
