Varloo Ma'am - Belated Wishes!

Although I stay at home all week long, I feel like doing nothing over the week-ends. Lazy me!

I made Mor Kuzhambu with ladies finger and white pumpkin. The side dish is brinjal plain curry.

Regards,
Nivedi

Hi friends,

How was your weekend? I am sure some of you cooked like profis and some lazed. Me, I did cook, but for the week ahead. I am going to have my grandkids with me for the whole week and will hardly have time to cook much! But idli, dosa dough is all done and ready for emergencies:) Boiled few dhals and pulses and cut veggies etc. All is set for jiffy cooking:)
The weekend was one long celebration. A RajaGanapathy Temple opened up close to us and there was Kumbabishekam celebrations and all the three days were spent in a trance by me! I could not believe that I was in US and experiencing such wonderful scenery that unfolded in front of my eyes. A very grand and beautiful ritualistic celebration. My eyes are still filled with the auspicious sight of the Dieties, the rainbow of colours of people with saris, priests with their colorful garb, the lush green surroundings and the nadaswaram and mridangam sounds and the chants of vedas and other holy scripture in my ears, the songs...Oh my. I was and am overwhelmed. I was truly blessed this weekend. I prayed for my family and all of you,my big Indusfamily, with all my might:)
Today, I am back to the normal world. Shall give fb as I proceed with my cookings.:)
I am trying to attach a pic for all of you, lemme see if it works!

Hey! It worked! Here are two more. Unfortunately my camera set itself to sepia and I lost the colours:( I am trying to post only the colorful ones! Enjoy.

It was the most difficult task to take the kalasams up to the roof and install those domes up there. Was a really thrilling sight.
Those living in the vicinity of NJ should try and visit this temple. The feel is as if you are in India:)

Dear Sujata,
wow, you transported us too to the pooja. Glad that you had a nice and nostalgic time, worshipping and enjoying the spiritual experience.
I prepared paruppu urundai kuzhampu yesterday and dinner was outside. Then today I made mullangi sambar, rasam, chow chow kootu, carrot poriyal, carrot salad (for myself) and also had left over kuzhambu from yesterday. For snack I made paniyaram and they turned out well. Now myself and hubby have to attend a wedding reception and dinner (I do hope so, sometimes it is very crowded that we miss the dinner). Now I have to go and get ready.
And, paneer and cauliflower paratha for the lunch boxes of the kids as well as breakfast for us.
