Hi Vandhana,

Yes, I think it is these little sides that jazzes up the daily meal. How can you resist pushani-kadalai koottu and settle for pea-barley soup?? And why? If for dieting reasons, you could have had the kootu?:)
This thread is good, gives ideas for menu planning:)

Hey Kamla,

I am perenially on a diet!!:icon_frown: But i usually cook in the mornings, so i had the PK kootu for lunch.
And I perfer having soups in the night. keeps you warm and nice. And ofcourse in summer i switch to ragi Koozhu or karaicha mor sadam or something equally light.

But yes this is a nice thread to share daily menu ideas.

My dear Vandhana

I should say you have some will-power.To have soups and to be on a perenial diet is really tough.Hats off to you (well,I wanted an emoticon for hats-off,but that is not there...so please adjust with this . )

We had rava dosa with sambar for dinner.I don't know what happened to my sambar today....it tasted horrible.Till date,my sambar has never tasted this bad...Only God knows what I did .

Last night,it came like a bolt of lightning to me while going to sleep...Guess what I did.I put rasam powder in sambar .No wonder my sambar was tasting so horrible.

Now I have proved to some extent that I am truly my mother's daughter..Once when someone came visiting home, the electricity was out and in the darkness,my mother used buttermilk and made tea ...I am proud to be my mother's true daughter.
