Hi friends,
I just wanted to check this with you all
I have actually cleared my wriiten test and soemone told me if you have your indian licence and once you clear the written test you will get a temperory licsence from DMV not driving permit.
Is it correct...
if yes what should i do not coz i have got my permit, can i go to dmv office and ask for temperory licence...
really confused..

Hi Cuteteddy,
Yes thats correct, if you Indian license you can drive her whereas while you are taking a written test they wont have asked you whether you have your own country license.You should have provided that time...
If not also you can drive but some licensed person should be with you.. This is the only difference in it.

Dear i know i can drive now with someone sitting next to me
what i am asking is can i go and talk to them now and by any chance can i get temperory driving licence now... coz if i have that i can drive of my own and dont need anyone sitting with me..... |

Hi,
Hey when they asked you during your test (that you have Indian driving license)and you said No or you didn't tell anything also..they won't give you the temporary license.

They dint ask me anything just asked for my california ID and thats it
after clearing my written test they gave me permit

Hi,
U can drive here with Indian license only for the first 6 months or so when u r new to U.S otherwise there is no temporary driving license here.

Hi.
If i am not mistaken you need international licence to drive in different country. i have done exactly same thing when i move from California to UK . i went to AAA office and got my International licence and i was able to drive on that for a one year. so i think you have to have international licence to drive.
