Microwave glass broke - Any remedies

My brother lives with students in IOWA and the kids had kept egg in microwave. The egg broke and splashed, Also the rotating glass insde microwave broke. His microwave is Whirlpool's.

Do they replace that rotating glass alone here in US or does he need to buy a new microwave ?
Please suggest !!

I think u can get microwave plate in Walmart and tell them to buy microwavable egg boiler in walmart, in price also its very less..4 boiled will be ready in 10 mins.

I have microwave of GE company..I bought it from craiglist.com. the thing is it was very dirty .. I almost clean it upto 99 % but the upper surface is not that much clean so can I use aluminium foil for that . Is there any other option for that .. plz suggest something.

1. Find some stain remover in stores like walmart.
2. Boil a cup of water with few drops of lemon juice or vinegar for 4-5 mins.
3. Now the upper surface of the Mwave will be moist due to boiling water. Spary the stain remover and leave it for some time according to the instructions in the bottle.

4. Then rub gently with scotch brite or some soft scrubber or even kitchen towels.

Hope this works out. Covering with aluminium foil is not safe all times.Depends on the quality of the foil which we cannot assure by looking it. So better clean it up like this frequently.
