hi IL's i was really confused abt the pan useful for preparation of chapatis ![]() plz let me know the type of pan u use for making chapati's [Non-Stick or Iron] and from which store do you people buy and suggest me with a brand name. thanks in advance -Sri

Hi Sri, If you are really health conscious non-stick is good, as it consumes less oil. But i like makiong chappathi's in normal tawa rather than non-stick. The drawback in non-stick is since it doesn't absorbs oil, the chappathi comes out very dry and due to thos many kids dont like chappathi's at all. Whereas in the normal pan it comes out soft. Still be conscious while using oil.

| Hi sri, Since i got everything from India, i did not purchase in US, still i have seen many of them while shopping. Particularly in IKEA you have many varities at less cost. They are not exactly of the same texture we get in India, but they are equally good. Check this for a model, other than this there are many.... IKEA | Cooking | Frying pans & woks | BRAVERA | Frying pan Walmart and Target too have good deals. Here we can find stainless steel flat pans too, those are also good. Hope this info helps you. |

Hi Sri I used non stick pans for making rotis. But lately have switched to iron since I am trying to stay away from nonstick pans and pots. I was not too happy with the ones found in IKEA or target. I found the roti tawa at NRI bazaar.com and very happy with it.

Could you please explain what do you mean by normal tawa - is it iron or aluminium? Thanks.

I'm health-freak, so I use an iron tawa from Indian stores. Just cant stand the fumes from non-stick pans.
