| For regular cooking, I use olive oil as it is best for health. Buy the extra virgin kind from costco. For frying, we use saffola oil from costco. |

| Idhayam Nalaennai ![]() ![]() For frying - Dhara or Saffola .. it depends :) For western foods its EVOO I hate vegetable/canola or corn oil, as I feel some sort of smell gets in the food because of the oil when it gets heated...

| I use Extra Virgin Olive oil for the cooking. But for frying I use the Canola oil. Canola oil does not smell that bad when you heat it to the right temperature. When it is overheated it starts giving out the bad smell. |

| Hi, I use sesame oil for idli chilli powder and for dosas. Dosas will have nice aroma when we use sesame oil. For curries and other cooking I use olive oil. Previously I was using canola oil. Unlike some ILs said it did not smell bad. Canola (made from canola seeds and named after the inventing country Canada) oil, olive oil and sesame oil are the 3 best oils for cooking. I read in a book by John Gray.
