can i use indian driving license for nj license?

1.I have indian driving license(tamilnadu).Can I use indian driving license to get newjersey license here..Any body got like that..plz reply..

2.what are the six point id verification..I have gone throught the net still not clear..Do I have to get nj state id ?..i am in H4 visa...so what are the documents should I take?..plz suggest

I am just clarifying some information regarding Indian license ,No you can not use Indian license unless u got international license from India.
I dont know what the six point question is about .maybe other iltes will be able to help you more .

Yes you can use your Indian license here . I got my license last month using my Indian license

For the six points you can use your passport , ur degree certificate ,bank statement in your name , appartment lease document with your name . you must have a ssn denial letter .marriage certificate can be shown as name change proof .

Yes, If you have IDP (International Driving Permit ) then you can use that and get NJ Drivers license,but still you should pass the written test here and then based on the IDP you will be issued the License. Please make sure that you carry your state license from India also along with IDP.

Along with 6 point id take SSN Denial letter which is a MUST, santasekar has already given you the details regarding the 6 point id

you can use indian driving license..first 6-pt verification,then written tets..in my case my indian license got rejected coz the name in passport did not match with the name in license..so i took road test and got license..if you have no such issues then its easy to get licennse..
