Default Yopleit and Butternilk - Gelatin ? ( Vegans)

This post is for vegans/vegetarians. A friend of mine discovered that yopleit has Gelatin ( Animal Fat) as an ingredient. I never knew that and used to take yopleit after food for 3 months. It was a substitute for dessert, to satisfy my sweet cravings after dinner. Also since it has live bacteria, I loved it so much.
Unfortunately many milk based products here in US, have Gelatin as ingredient. I saw it in some buttermilk boxes too.

In diet suggestion we come across yoghurt as a good thing to eat. But is there any alternate to Yopleit without Gelatin. I love flavored yogurt and I am missing it a lot.

Is the enzyme only in flavored yogurt or is it in plain yogurt also??? Pls someone clarify this for me.
After going through this thread I am v upset. It is v difficult to select food items in this country.
Unknowingly i feel i have ended up eating non veg at times which is making me feel bad.
PS: no offense meant to any meat eaters.

No yogurt comes close to home-made in my opinion. I make soups at home, using most vegetables, pastas , bulgar, Quinoa flakes or Quinoa pasta , black beans etc.. Quinoa , by the way is what we call Kambu in tamil. To the soups , I add homemade vegetable stock.

My family just loves this soup on a cold wintry night.
