| hi all, Finally i am able to make rice on stovetop without spoiling the texture. I soak the rice 1 hr before cooking. By soaking the rice becomes thin & lengthy like basmati rice. I boil water in a vessel well and rice later. Once it 3/4th done and nice aroma comes i reduce the flame and cook it in sim. As few said i strain the excess water by covering the vessel with a plate and tilting it an angle. My MIL used to keep a big empty vessel ond over it she would keep the boiled rice vessel covered with a plate. It should be slightly open so that water flows. She will place a tumbler to hold the plate from falling down. |
