Default best way to bring grinder from India

Hi ladies

I am planning to get grinder from India. Which is the best way to bring it, either as a separate package or bring it in parts with our luggage? Pls share ur ideas bcos my inlaws are visiting next week.

Hi Sanravi,

Personally, I brought my grinder by packing the differents parts separately, because I didn't want that grinder box to be counted as 1 luggage. I packed the steel drum, stone and the body..all in separate suitcases with clothes. Mine was a 2L capacity.

But if your in laws do not have much luggage, then they can carry it as a separate box. Since they are 2 of them , I guess they will be allowed 2 check in luggages and 2 hand baggages..right..or have the rules changed now?

Probably, other IL'ites can also share more info on this.

Cheers
Krithika

San,
As Vidya Stated, do not remove the package that the shop gives you (with all those thermocol package inside the box). Just put the box into your suitcase. I got mine like that.

Thanks
Priya

Thanks friends for ur suggestions, but will it fit if i keep the grinder without removing the package that the shop keeper gives. Although the shop owner says that they pack the grinder in such a way that it can be exported as such.. what do u all say, if i ask them to take it as a separate package, will it come to me safely?

How is the risk of damage while exporting it as parts inside our baggage or exporting as a whole unit? Which is better?

Krithika, eventhou 4 baggage can be checked in each 23kgs i believe, since they are old and not that healthy, we dont want them to carry too much weight..

Thanks
