wesson canola oil price doubled ?

hi frnds ,
on friday i went to sams to purchase oil and was horrified to see that wesson brand canola and vegetale oil prices are doubled ....just 2months back i purchased 5qt wesson oil fr $6.48 and now its priced 12.88$...did anyone noticed in anyother state .i checked in walmart supercenter too.....

Hi,

Haven't you heard about the ban on export of edible oils along with Rice and wheat products. Thats exactly the reason for such a price hike. Stock up if you use lots of oil and I don't think such ban would be lifted anytime soon, as India is literally strugglung to keep its prices reasonable.

Yes even here it is doubled. But luckily i bought 1 can just last month when it was on sale.

When i noticed last weekend, i was totally shocked to its price doubled.

hey i dont know this..let me check at nearby store for oil prices?

some prices in singapore.

1L of Sesame oil $9
5Kg of Ponni Rice $22.00

yes ladies it is same in NC. The rice I buy use to be $12 and now it is $30.00 and the oil gone up from $6 to $13.

Gas price hike, recession, food grain shortage, export ban...........what else to blame?

So do we need to starve or what?
