Default Appliances for new home

Dear Ilites,

We have purchased a new home & have opted to buy the 5 appliances from outside as we have choosen the gas stove. Could you please suggest good quality appliances, brands & models that you are using & which is reasonably priced? Please let us know any stores with good bargains for appliances in Toronto. The vast selection in the store is baffling a first time home buyer like us.

We are looking for stainless steel gas stove, fridge & dishwasher. The washer & dryer combo need not be stainless steel as it is going to be in the basement. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Kate.

This was a tip given by my American Friend....some states used to have stores where they sell name brand appliances for a discount becos of cosmetic defects...which is a very minute scratch ....not so very visible to a naked eye...which carries a warranty too...

To be honest..I havent tried it since my home came with the appliances...

If you are looking for a deal and not worried abt such minute cosmetic defects...and if you have one in your city...you can try...

Consumer reports magazine has all the details you want....which rates everything from cars to appliances...and you can check your local library for an issue..

Hope this helps...

Hi Shravanthika,

Thank you for sharing the tip. I will definitely check out the consumer reports magazine in the library.

What brand of appliances do you have?

Regards,
Kate.

Hi,
Even many Indians buy such kind of appliances (minute damaged ones).
Check out @ Buy Craftsman Tools | Fitness Equipment | Kenmore Home Appliances | Lawn & Garden Equipment | Sears.com - Where It All Begins. They usually have these kinds of deals.

Regards.
