Hi Padija,

We have been to San Diego when we were living in Pleasanton , California. It was about 8 hours drive for us from there.

We stayed at DAYS INN at Carlsbad since we wanted to visit the SEA WORLD and LEGO LAND. In fact for your 3 year old, both these theme parks are wonderful choices. This is in center to both these places and was very convenient for us.

The beauty of LEGO LAND is that it is apprpriate for kids of all ages. Infact there are so many rides just for small kids and as a family. Really a beautiful and fun experience for us parents too!

Since we went by car, no idea about the airport location there.

On our way back to Pleasanton, we even managed to visit the famous VENKATESWARA SWAMY TEMPLE in Malibu.

If you have not been there, it is sure worth the time and effort to go there. A very beautiful, scenic and peaceful place. We feel very humbled seeing our temple amidst the million dollar homes!

Meanwhile, i will try to find more information for you.

Cheers
Krithika ( Jithiks)

Hi Padija,

Here's more info...

Even if you stay in a hotel near the San Diego International Airport..Legoland is just about 35-40mts drive from there.

Infact SEA WORLD, San Diego is just about 15mts drive.

So if you plan beforehand and find a hotel near the airport, then you can easily visit both these theme parks....of course one day for each theme park.

If you are planning for the zoo...maybe you need to stay for one more day!

Cheers
