| Hi Cindhuja, We also moved from California to Virginia abt 18 months back. In california, the summers and winters are dry...but here in East coast..Summers are hot and humid ( Like chennai weather) and winters are extremely cold and dry. As for moisturizers, you can go for OLAY FACE MOISTURIZERS. It comes for dry & combination/oily skins. This is very good. As for hands, legs and body, you can use Cetaphil or EUCERIN ( no fragrance). These come in creams/lotions. These are good even if you have sensitive skin. Cheers Krithika ( Jithiks) Last edited by Jithiks; 2nd April 2008 at 06:56 PM. |

| Hi Cindhuja, You can try the Nivea body lotion for dry skin, it really helps during the winter. If it is too heavy for your skin, you can choose from the others in their line. The moisturizers from India are not effective for the US weather, Olay face lotion is a good one that would soften your skin as well as not be too thick. It takes time to adjust to any new place, so choose your skin care routine & stick to it for a while to see if it works for you. Goodluck. -Deepa |

| Hi, Nivea body lotion makes skin tan. I have been using vaseline body lotion for many years and is been good. Try some small packs/samples before you get used to anything. Regards. |

| Theres a store called bed bath and beyond. Please go there.. they have different mositurizers in small containers.. I have been using neutrogena for years and works awesome.. Curel and cetaphil are good .. but obviously no fragrance... its what docs prescribe for dry skin.. The best practice would be to buy some body oil [like a conditioner after shampoo for hair]...to use in the shower after bath.. :) works like a charm.. neutrogena body oil is what I use...Most importantly..dont use soap.. always go for a body wash... If you feel I cant spend time bathing and then applying oil.. wash it again and then go for a body moisturizer.. u can buy ...olay brands.. it has a moisturizer body wash.. u will feel soft after the bath... so no need for oil or moisturizer after bath.. For face.. its bit tricky.. since its sensitive and everyone has their own types.. so as I said earlier.. try that store...

| Yes, like Puni said I too found that Nivea is darkening the skin. But had same experience with Vaseline [ aloe fresh] also !! So presently am using Aveeno moisturising lotion ; till now seems ok. Any suggestions for what to use for kids ?? Esp. around lips/nose area due to chilly winds, very dry & itchy she feels.

| Hi Grace For the kids, my peadiatrician suggested Cetaphil or Eucerin. Since both do not have fragrance and can be used for sensitive skin too...these are best option. Cheers Krithika ( Jithiks) Quote:
