No More curry Leaves in USA

Hi,

The customs will not allow fresh curry leaves to be brought in US. I have seen friends bring in fried curry leaves in ziploc bags. Nowadays, it may be not be feasible to bring in the curry leaves as they fear contamination of bacteria in planes etc.

Personally, I have not brought curry leaves to US from India.
Also, i am not sure abt freezing curry leaves. Never heard of this before!

You can dry the leaves and powder it and bring it in powdered form here.I brought like that.This you can use for sambar and rasam and also all south indian gravies.It will add the taste and also very healthy.

I was wondering why there were no curry leaves in the indian grocery stores since last 2 weeks ! I am really missing cooking sambaar and daal without them

Have you found curry leaves recently in any of the indian shops anywhere in bay area?? Next monday is vishu and I'll badly miss curry leaves in my Sadya. As a last ray of hope, can anyone give me any updates on the availability of curry leaves??
