L2 visa drivers license

hi illinois state residents,
my friend has l2 visa and not yet applied for ssn.
she wants to get drivers license.
could u plz tell the proceedure? whethet to apply for ssn? how to apply? where to apply for driving license? can the temporary drivers license only be applied?

First she has to apply for an SSN it takes about 2 weeks for them to mail it and then she has to go to the DMV office with proof of residence SSN take a written test and eye test, pass the road test and then she will get temp license.For any licence she needs SSN.
FYI the SSN office is somewhere on lake street if you the area it is on the way to Sri Shiridi Sai Baba Temple.And the DMV office you can find it online the one closest to my house is in Naperville i can give you the exact address if you want.

she had this confusion of applying for ssn, whether just l2 visa is enough or shld she have ead also. i guess she need not ve ead for applying ssn in l2 visa. is that true?
