This is a concern for me from time since my DH started taking lunch. He always likes his food hot and so he microwaves daily ...but..yes..in plastic microwave containers. Reading all those articles abt oily foods and plastic and microwave...God help me ...to find one.. Thanks grace ...for starting this thread.. Also I'm aware of the insulated lunch boxes in the market..but really doubtful..how long do they stay hot..again many of them have plastic containers... So ladies...how do you manage to take lunch and eat piping hot..(I'm sure most wont prefer so) Please share your views and suggestions.I desperately need some suggestions...healthy and satisfactory

I use pyrex glass boxes to carry our lunch, microwavable and dishwasher save. Comes in various sizes and we picked the ones perfect for us. The lid is still plastic but we remove the lid before putting in the microwave. How about others? Rithi

Rithi, thanks for the suggestion. But I was wondering how handy are the glass containers...I checked once but all seem to be deep containers unlike lunch boxes...so what kind of food you take along?

Pyrex, with red lid (I got mine is WM), is rectangular not deep and perfectly fits in our lunch bag. It is a apt lunch box in my opinion. Rithi

| Hi We also use Pyrex rectangular glass dish with a red top. It works great. you also can try Corningwear dish with lids sold seperately..& this can be used in Conventional ovens too. My suggestion is to remove the plastic lid from any container before heating...instead use a damp paper towel; this allows the moisture to stay and does not soil the oven too. Hope this helps.
