| Hi , I think we do get paneer made of 2 % milk these days. Forgot the brand name. The american alternatives are : tofu ( firm tofu usually for our indian recipes) . The other option is to use low fat ricotta cheese, but then this does not gel well for Indian recipes, unless the paneer is to mashed up and used like for paratas, or kheema etc.... Hope this helps. | Vandana .. It would be nice if u could post the name of the brand once it strikes your mind... I love Paneer but did not buy it for a long time besos of the whole lotsa fat...(I do not want to strain myself to make it at home though...) If there is 2% fat paneer available...that is really good news to me... I'll check out again in my Indian stores... |
