Default Making Parathas In US!!!!

Hi all,

I don't know how many of you have come across with problem.
Whenever i make paratha they are not as soft as they used to be in India.
I think either because of atta or coil stove in US parathas don't turn out real soft.
If anyone of you have changed your way of making parathas here in US please let me know or at least pour in your suggestions to make soft paratha.

Cheers,
Ansh

Hey Ansh,

Check Indian Cuisine Recipes, Indian Recipes, South Indian Recipes. or any other website for tips.As you mentioned, mixing atta is the trick to get softer parathas/rotis.Always mix atta with warm water or warm milk and 1/2tsp of oil/ghee/butter for soft texture .

Default Re: How to make Chapati softer

To make my chappatis at home, I knead the flour with a mix of 1/2 water and 1/2 milk. Use warm milk and warm water to knead the flour and knead it well and keep covered for 1/2 hour before making the chappatis. Once you make your chappatis, place them inside a paper napkin which is in turn covered by a piece of foil. This will retain the softness of the chappati after it has been made.
