open return ticket for mom

    Hi,
    I am pregnant and EDD is in October 2nd week. I am planning to call my mom for a few months in September and looking to book open return ticket from Delhi to Chicago since I do not know how my mom will adjust to the cold weather here. Do you recommend any airlines for reasonable rate open return ticket? any experiences with american airlines with flexible return ticket? Is it easy to change the return date?also, is it better to book from here in US or from India? thanks a lot for your advice.
