Anyone using contact lenses for short/long sight corrections(in place of glasses?). If so, can you please share your experiences with the brands available in US? Also, how often do you change it(weekly or daily) and which brand of disinfectant solution is good? Thanks!

    Hi
I've been using contacts for last 15 yrs and very comfortable with it .I'm using Bausch & Lomb and my hubby is using ACUVUE Oasys , both are good brands . You can ask your eye specialist for trial lens for both the brands and whichever comfortable you can go for it . For me Bausch & Lomb is very comfy , Acuvue didn't suit my eyes n for my hubby Acuvue , so definitely try the trial lens . Daily disposal is very expensive , so we opted for 2 weeks disposal, usually doctor prescribes for 2 weeks or 4 weeks disposal , you can talk about this with your doctor .

Bausch & Lomb and Opt Free are good brands for lens solution , you can talk about this also with your eye doctor.

Hey. I have been using contacts for about 10 years. I have tried B&L, Acuvu, and Air Optix. Because of my astigmatism, I have had to switch brands around every year to find the one that had the most correct/closest numbers to match. They were all okay. B&L was the most comfortable but had the least number of astigmatism matches. I could see best with Acuvu.

I use optifree cleansing solution. Don't use Renu - that brand is very bad.

Thank you very much snow lover and DNM.

Heard a lot of good reviews about Acuvue Oasys. Great idea on getting a trial pair, just downloaded a trial certificate from Acuvue website. Thanks :thumbsup

I have tried Baush and Lomb in India, but with Renu solution and always ended up with dry eye/infections, not sure if it was the lens or the Renu solution as pointed out by DNM.
