Hi all, I waited till now.I didnt get any replies here.So i went to homedepot, selected two big wood strips of scale width and asked them to cut into 10 pieces and give. And also took nails. My total bill at homedepot was around $6.I came home and fixed it with nails. It looks good. Hope this helps u all, Happy vinayaka chaturthi! Vaishu

Dear Vaishu, You seem to be very innovative :) Good for you. There is only limited choice in this country to buy such things, atleast wher I live. Some of my friends have made their own using their creativeness. Yours sounds very good. Hope you can post pictures once the decoration is done. Indian stores do sell, the ones I have seen or in the copper-silver metallic look. Seen less of the wood ones. L, Kamla

Vaishnavi, I just now saw your thread. I know we are being irreverant but we use cocktail umbrellas as make do palavelli. You can get them at the party store. You can see that in this post of mine Changing Times And Festivals Last edited by Blondie; 19th September 2007 at 10:28 PM.
