where do u stay..and where do u really want to settle?

the last thread that opened had over 100 posts and all ladies who replied to the post were in US

i can never come to terms with settling abroad...i dunno how people manage to live in foriegn lands for years and keep commenting about life in india

i have been abroad many a times and never felt like staying there beyond a point....the first thing i ask when i am given a foriegn assignment is about its end date.... and it should not go beyond a year for me...

i wonder whatz there in people's mind when they come to settle in a foriegn land...i a not too patriotic but i love being in india...

how do u feel??

i am settled in pune and i feel it's a lovely place to settle down...the life is little relaxed and weather during most of the year is nice

what abt ur city....?..and where do u want to settle down...
if abroad ..then why?

I am a 4th generation born and brought up in Nairobi, i lived my whole life here and i have travelled a lot , i would love to settle abroad especially in Europe as i speak french, spanish and italian andi am kind drawn to European countries, i love their transport systems i love everything about Europe.

I love travelling abroad but do not like to settle there.
I want to settle either in Chennai or my sweet old Coimbatore...

we settle in a place because as start to live somewhere, we start to develop roots there.. and its not easy to uproot a family, especially when you are in a secure job, house, kids in school, friends that closer than family near you.. the same feeling you have with Pune, I have with NY. This home, this is where I belong and where I want to live. I travel to India, and I love India, there times when I wish I was living there but about 3 weeks after, I long to come back "home" - and home is where there heart is and my heart is in NY. I guess its as simple as that.

Once we have kids the priorities change. I believe all our decisions including where you settle down will be around their future and their social life.

Also, living in foreign countries is not 'unpatriotic', in fact it is the opposite; Indians living in foreign countries are very patriotic.

me rite now in hyderabad waiting for visa for UK....my husband is working there..want to settle in hyderbad in future..!!

I am from (Pathankot) Punjab, but now live in Jaipur as my husband has been transferred here. Jaipur is good too, but I would love to go back to Punjab. All of our family lives there and I really miss them. Plus, Jaipur's restaurant food is not like Punjab's. I miss that also....
