How different is America from India? They too go for Chinese, Korea, India and Taiwan products? What we do not have or is easily obtainable(?) from elsewhere at a lesser price we should not waste our time and resourses producing them. Just as US is devoting its manpower in research oriented work, India has also started doing. It plans to send a manned space craft to moon by 2007. Let us cheer at our developments instead of lamenting about our drawbacks.
Please note-No hurt intended.

Dear CC

Each country has its own greatness.USA is really not a manufacturing country.Infact ,it imports a lot of its goods from other countries.Like Sunkan said,India has its own products, products we can be proud off.India also imports a lot from USA like the things you have mentioned. But all those things, have hit the Indian market only in the last 5-10 yrs.

I am definitely proud to be an Indian.

India is my country, all Indians are my brothers and sisters.I love my country and I am proud of its rich and varied heritage.

These are words from our national pledge and these words say it all.

Hello,
Now a days, I am buying Indian tops at Macy's. I think these designs won't be available in India. The material was so good, designs were so good.
Most of the dresses are from India.

Thanks,
Punitha

Hey there

Macy's, Gap and many big brands have all the clothes made in India...

I had a friend whose dad had a garment factory in Delhi and they used to export clothes in US to GAP, also these companies have sort of contracts with these small manufacturers in India, asking them not to sell any of their produce in Indian Market and a few of the clothes wich are rejected by these foreign companies get sold in Indian export shops for dirt cheap prices... So we can very well understand, India is great, it just need to realise its potential, that too has started happening now...

if we start comparinng US and India, we'll end up realising that India has an edge over US in many things... and with the dollar hitting a low, u never know what's goin to happen... India is really happening right now and in many years to come...

Thumbs down Re: Craze 4 Foreign products?!? Is everything available in India?

I'm reminded of just 1 incident, a few months back, my friend & I were shopping in a mall in US(at Sear's) and found some fantastic ladies shirts, it looked very expensive and the cloth was of such good quality. My friend bought the shirt and was thrilled that she found something she loved and was looking forward to show it to her family among other things she bought.

It was only a few days later she noticed a small tag in the shirts (in the collar) and was shocked ! The tag had the traditional small line in it "MADE IN INDIA" !!!

Since we were buying abroad, this possibility din't strike both of us !!!

Forget it yaar, "SARE JAHAN SE ACHA, HINDUSTAN HAMARA" !!! There's nothing we cannot achieve if we put our minds sincerely to it.

This topic constantly amazes me. I have lived most of my life outside India. I spend a lot more time in India now that I am married and my husband's family is in India. I do a lot of shopping in India, and my in laws used to get very surprised that I don't bring things with me, and I have shown her that everything is available in India and better quality. In fact some of the things that are available in India are not available in some other countries!

Proud to be Indian!
