Why are Indians attacked abroad?

There seems to be no end to the attacks on Indians in Australia. Indians have also been victimized in some other countries also many times. After 9/11 many sikhs were attacked in America and Indian muslims are still looked upon with suspicion by other countries, even though no Indian has ever been caught in suspect of any international terror attacks.

What do you think is the reason behind such victimization of Indians abroad?

From what I have found out, Indians and rather the entire South-Asian community is victimized abroad because they fail to mix up with the local people.

The locals don't trust them because (1) Brown people don't have a good reputation these days and (2) you can take an Indian out of India, but not India out of an Indian.

I have heard of some NRIs living in America for years, still washing their clothes in their bathrooms and hanging them out of the window to dry.

Nobody does that there.... If you want to live in a country, accept the customs of that country.

Here in Jamaica, locals get upset with Indians because they feel we people are earning at the cost of those people. If we Foreigners were not here , itseems they locals would be preferred for those jobs. Not everyone, but a few of them when they are really frustrated make such comments.......But, still Indians are well respected in jamaica.........

I don't think that the jobs most Indians do abroad are worth feeling jealous for. Most NRIs are either driving taxis, working in restaurants or shops or doing wage labor jobs... Only a fraction of Indians have made something for themselves abroad.

But still, for some reason, they are attacked by the locals. May be its because what Jasminder said, or may be the locals are jealous of them.
