Hi,

Taking the liberty of posting my comments again.

What you say is right. Of course children has to take in the correct sense and that is the duty of the teachers and the parents.

As most of these children are fans of this super star sure they would give it a thought about how he came across so many hardships in life and achieved the goal finally. Even the kids of the age of 2 or may be even below that is a fan of him.

Children have just heard about other leaders but in this case they keep seeing the superstar every now and then in the media like TV, newspapers, magazines etc. He is a live example.

This book has already been published and circulated to all the schools. Right now the duty of the parent / teacher is to draw the line up to what they should learn, the do's & dont's.

Dear Krishnamma, i feel it is wrong. Yes i agree that Rajini has done lot of hard work for this position of Super Star in Tamil film industry which he is right now but that doesn't make any sense of him to be introduced in Cbse syllabus..

All the examples given by you are very clear and true.. There are lot of other people who can be introduced in our country for giving an example of hard work.. I don't think there won't be any kid in Tamil Nadu who don't know Rajini, if so then what is the purpose of super star to be chosen..?

Oh my god knowing about this am afraid that soon there will be introduction of mega star Chiranjeevi in state syllabus books in Andhra Prades.. aila..

Hi senorita,
I too afraid of that. From Jayalalitha, Mammuti, Mohan lal and Big B............... the llist will be so big if they start like this. There is one super star in each and every state. All are them struggled and came up. If they start like this means?...............where is the end?

Like you say there may be danger that children will pick up wrong ideas only !
I am reminded of one Reader's Digest bit :
The teacher will tell class about Thomas Alva Edison, his full life story from childhood , being drop out, suffering hearing problem, poverty etc to making electricity and becoming famous and all . Then he will ask kids : What did you learn from his story ?
One boy will say : " I learnt it is not necessary to go to school to become famous scientist "
Sorry yar, I missed your post. Your joke is also so nice. I am not blaming the children. WE are human being and we will do like that only. So we must be very care ful when we talk with children. That s why I worried about this lesson. Any how there are two sides for a coin. What do you say?

hi all,

the discussion is going hot only about rajijikanth, mamutty, chiranjeevi, big b. what about the heroines like

silk smitha, namitha (like how she struggled to get into the industry). mumtaz. and the actressess who is married to more than a husband....... so it is not just a chanllenge for the future of the kids it is also a challenge for the culture.... what do u say my friends.........

just wanted to know can the general public do anything about this, b'cos it is not new for the central or the state govt to withdraw anything, y not the books or atleast the lessonbut but issuing a new book instead of the old can only help i guess. they can very well ask the kids to omit the lesson and read the rest. god only can help.

yes.Saying as his hardwork paid him means ok.but kids if they take it in a wrong way that they can also behave like that and can come as a superstar means then the parents will suffer. It will be better if they remove this from the syllabus.
He will become a roll model to become a star then studying

If you ask me blankly whether it is correct I would say it in bold and black that it is correct. What ever I write over here is my personal views. I am also not to comment on this lesson until I read it somewhere. Till now I couldn’t find the complete version any where. If any one can post it it is highly appreciated.

I could see someone write that India lacks role models. I totally disagree, My mother nation has number of role models and they have proved themselves that why we are growing to be the leaders in many of the fields. It even ends up for many developped counties to envy on us. India in the present world has lots of good reasons to be known for.

Sharada as you said we(teachers, elder siblings and parents) should enable our children to be intellectual to differentiate the good and the bad and also ensure that they understand things and only imbibe the good qualities and stay away from the bad as everything in this world has a flip side.

Nandhshyam, you are also absolutely right, me doing my education which promotes Gandhism. In the walk of my life in the institute I picked many good qualities of Gandhiji. I also was enlightened the gray areas of his life and was taught on what I should not imbibe from him to be more perfect in life.

Swarnalatha you joke from readers digest was a good one. I really want to ask this question to all the parents of children.

· Why is all the panic about this issue, do you feel the teachers in the school have failed to perform their role to the betterment of children or what?

· Do you feel teachers in India are not being loyal to their duties to psychologically drive students towards the values and integrity in life?

· Parents have stopped spending quality time with their child and are not giving them the opportunity to voice out their thought and feelings

· Parents in this hectic career and monetary oriented life have stopped spending quality time to be spent with our children.

· Parent have lost their instincts to smell the rotten things entering from various sources into the mind of the children

· Have parents lost from being preemptive and not have time to guide their children.

If any one feel that the damage is done by having a lesson about Rajini, lets stop cribbing about and getting our imagination to grow about the list of the other actors and actresses who would get an opportunity to join this list. After all this actors and actresses have gained their fame by us the viewers watching their movies just to spend time relax ourselves, enjoy a get to get-togethers/outing with our near and dear.

Now I would to like to tell those people that you reach the people who have this as part of the syllabus and explain them the good and bad about Rajini and enable them to pick the good things and avoid practicing the flip side.

If you ask me I even like the worst of the worst person and would appreciate for the smallest goodness he has in himself. this will end up giving him confidence over himself to grow the values which are part of him.

Let me tell you the example of Hitler, He is known for all the bad he has done in his life. But he too has a flip side. Most of the retrial benefits and provident fund was something introduced to the world by him.

If there would have been some one around him near and dear who appreciated him for all the good he did and been a role model and initiated the feeling of where he needs to change himself and directly ignored him when he did something wrong. The world wouldn’t have to go by so much turbulence.

PS: I am not a fan of any cine personality as many people would end up feeling that I have written this because I am a fan of cine fraternities
