NEW DELHI: IG, Meerut Range, Gurdarshan Singh is at present addressing the media to reveal the details of the twin murder case of Aarushi Talwar and a domestic help of the Talwar household, Hemraj.

While Aarushi’s father Dr Rajesh Talwar has been arrested in connection with the case, her mother Dr Nupur Talwar is being questioned.

Throwing light on the motive behind the murders, the IG said that Dr Rajesh was involved with another woman, and Aarushi had come to know of his extramarital affair. Hemraj was also aware of the affair.

Singh said Rajesh tried to mislead the Noida police by putting the blame on Hemraj.

Hemraj’s body was, however, found in a badly decomposed state later. He was killed before Aarushi.

The IG said Aarushi was murdered around 1am on May 16.

Revealing the modus operandi of the murder, police said Rajesh Talwar first banged Aarushi's head against the wall and thereafter cut her vocal chords and jugular vein. Nupur has been arrested for abetting the crime.

The weapon used for the murder, a surgical blade, has been recovered in Haridwar .

The modus operandi in both murders is similar, Singh said.

Talwar, who was arrested a few hours ago, reportedly broke down and confessed to the crime after intensive questioning by the police late on Thursday night.

An accomplice in the case, Dr Anita Durrani, has been detained, police said.

Dr Rajesh Talwar and Dr Anita shared the same clinic premises.

i must say this is peak of cruelity for the sake of children people go through so many difficulties and this butcher man killed his own child for an unacceptable illegal behavior.

prepared to lose one's loved one ...for the sake of 'another' woman?

Have you people heard of honor killings in the Muslim World? If a daughter falls in love,the family members will get together and kill the girl for the honor of the family.
When in IBN they said it was honor killings,I first assumed that probably the girl had fallen in love with someone.But this is surely a surprise.To hide the father's fault,the girl had to die..really sad.

I am really upset eversince I have read about Aurushi's murder. She is murdered in her own home by her own people. I am not able to imagine what that girl went through when her own father was killing her. I don't even understand why her mother is keeping mum. How can a mother see her child being brutally murdered by her husband? There is very serious reason behind this crime and the accused if it is proven should be given severe punishment.

There is no security for life in cities now a days.

Hope police do something quick and solve it..

Lets wait and see what the parents have to say.. now that they are arrested. They will burn in hell for sure if they have did this to their own blood.

My deep consoles to Aarushi, i really wonder what kind of parents are they and doubt is she there own daughter. If so how cruel can he be killing his own child and her mom not opening mouth.. Just because she came to know about there extra marital affairs..? And the media how irritating in airing the clip yesterday. What they get by doing that except increasing the Trp ratings of all channels. media should help to find the truth and not disgrace the name of girl who is no more...
