| Yes, it is indeed very pathetic that the boy died. The parents's loss is so great. But please stop and think for a minute. Parents nowadays do no care at all about educating their children about the dos and don'ts in life. They just do not think of correcting their children and repent later. People usually say that Western people do not take care of their children and only Indians take very good care. I feel that Indians just neglect to teach their children good habits, responsibilites and how to cope in case of emergencies. The boy was 17 years old, was he not old enough to know that he should not poke his head inside the lift shaft? One of my son's friend came home one day and while chatting he took my cell phone and was handling it. He asked me so many questions about why I had the particular ring tone etc. I was getting irritated but thought that he may be asking because he was curious. After he left, I found that he had changed all the settings in my phone. I was shocked and angry to say that lest. That boy did not even have the right to touch my phone. He is 17 years old. My son was handling the phone of a close realtive (this man moves very closely with my son always). Before I could object, the relative snatched the phone from my son's hand. Later, I scolded my son for touching another person's belongings without his permission. Son's argument that he was only looking up about what games the handset had was brushed away by me and I toldhim strictly that he was not to touch even my phone without my permission. The parents do not say when a child spoils another person's belongings and wreck the things in another's house. Such children do all the dangerous acts and it becomes a fatal one sometimes, like this. Being cautious is not wrong or something to laugh at. It is sad that the parents have a learned a very costly lesson. |
