Angry Is it correct to compare India and China

hi friends.......

i was searching for new chinese visa policy but all in vain nothing is correct. I came across one site where they have compared India and China infrastructure.. But it was unacceptable by me to compare two different countries who are totally following different rules in administration. Some of the bloggers from west said.....if china can develop its infrastructure in short time why not india.. many have demanded that there are so many people in mumbai living in slums and so many rubbish... But i couldnt answer in that site as that was for the registered members and i was not at all intersted to register their ... so i want to discuss it here with our ladies...what do you say about this...

One thing is correct we are lagging behind in infrastructure.. one of the main reasons is also the corruption in our country..it is really shameful for us that in our country most of the work are done on paper..we are smart for paper work...but this is not the only reason why we are lagging...
Do china have border conflicts with many countries as india have at present..No.. do china have terrrorist problem in their country..
no ...did china faced any war recently no...is china facing brain drain ...no...do china supports many religion in their country...no...cultural revolution in china has banned all the religions ..all are now han chinese but no religion except few following buddhism.....Main thing do china seek any opinion fromtheir citizens ...again no.....does anyone knows how beijing olympics stadium has been constructed..no.. To construct olympics stadium in beijing people who were living in thst area were forced to move to another place which not as good as beijing and the land, money what they got in return was negligible compare to the cost of their land in beijing..those people were living their for last two three generations..
Is it possible to do same in india..no and we dont encoursage such inhuman things....chinese citizen are not free to speak against their govt. ...china is one country who in top position to give capital punishment...

On the other hand in india ...being an indian we shouldnt do favor
that whatever happening in our country is correct..but if we see ....we have so much border conflict...with pakistan, bangladesh and even with china too...as china is claiming arunachal pradesh and sikkim as part of china...our politicians are totally corrupted..one correct reason...then we have so many intruders and we cant say refugee but so many other people from neighbouring countries..overloading...people who live in slums compromise of the refugees more compare to rest indians...we can find slums where people from bangladesh , nepal are living in india...many are in disguise as they belong to nrth east india UP and bihar...we always face terrorism and we had war in 97,98 which effected us a lot.... unlike china we are encouraging foreign countries to develop their industries in our country...our land area compare to china is so less...whereas we are same in population... One more reason which makes these developments slower that is our democracy...whenever something ois planned we get good number of oppositions..that os correct also sometimes, otherwise we may end up in situation like beijingers have been.... we dont allow our politicians to do anything they wish which is not in favor of general people...

I hope sometimes we can come out of this situation....and have good infrastructure...plans are going on for more flyovers in blore then metros in delhi and blore...but yeah still we have to go very long way..

hi padma,
you have written exactly what me and my DH discuss almost everyday....no way anyone can compare china and india....except for the most populous status and the asian location, india and china are worlds apart...social and political systems are entirely different like you have explained so thoroughly with statistics....more than anything else the major difference is the political integrity and longterm vision....which is non existent in india...but the chinese dont enjoy the freedom of expression that we do...and also for almost the same population, our land area is much smaller compared to china...our monsoon dependent agriculture should also be taken into account...not to mention the number of perennial rivers that china has...i heard there is a good book also on this topic of comparing india and china titled "chindia"...am eagerly waiting to read it to get more clear ideas on this....

hi Vidya..

thanks for the response...i really feel to be here in such a country where they dont respect humanity...today itself i read in china news that for them olympics is important not business....they are unaware...their visa restriction is bad reputation for their olympics.

Here we were discussing about our countries...yeah i read somewhere these chinese less knowledge students who hardly can speak english..who cant differentiate he and she..several and few...,they were comparing india's peasant with chinese country side...i feel really bad how they compare....different countries with same standard...at least indians have preserved their culture and traditions...we are not blindly following any communism...its true infrastructure in china is good..but what about people in country side where a son sells himself for his fathers kidney transplantation...we dont have such kind of thing in our country no indians can buy a human being and none can sell themselves to anybody...in our country we have humanity upto some extent...china a self praising country only.. in one blog some chinese mentioned indian farmers suicide for the debts but they are unaware those peasants really are unaware of the recent development how they can get help...the root cause in our country fpor mo0st of the things is corruption..

Hi Padma & Vidya,

To me both are two different poles. If one is a super power in soft ware & another one in hard ware. Living in Singapore, I do mingle with both the communities. I see both the country shining in two different aspects. My husband travels a lot & he too says infrastructure in china is quite good & impressive! These developments are shown through high raised buildings, flyovers & other basic amenities such as public toilets whereas in India we need to focus a bit more on these aspects. But yes, one should remember china is communist country, freedom of speech & expression is less & India is democratic Country- Biggest flaw in a developing democratic country is ' Red tape'(ism), It's difficult to process a file or implement a law Be’cos of too many people involved with too many ideas! Satisfying every one in all manners is a Hercules task. And irrespective of too many views, policies, languages, people, culture, conflicts, and internal politics etc. our country remains (at least tries) to be united. On the other hand, the fellow citizens in china are working hard & they are forced to remain united! Therefore, again they are to different poles.

In Singapore, everyday immigrants are pouring in from these two countries. One common feature I notice in them is both are having the in-built fire to shine in life.
As a teacher, I notice students from main land China are good at Maths & Indians from India are good at languages & has good communicating skill. I acknowledge & appreciate both. Hence comparing two different countries is like comparing Mother and Mother-in-law, which a daughter or a daughter-in-law should refrain.
