Hi sujakalyan,

thanks for the link. As they said, the people celeberated the Tamil New Year on 1st of Chitrai only. Even in TV channels, the ads. are about new year sales only.

Very frank , bold and right opinion.I am word by word i am agreed with you. He can do whatever he wants only with Hindus only. GOD IS THERE.

But so far he enjoyed everything good in the life. Total family are well settled. He enjoyed all the joys of life. Now for him nothing if God exists or teaching a lesson.

We celebrated on April 13th as usual .

But Hindus only has to teach him a lessonbonk. Like North India soon it will start in South India also.

Being an athiest, he doesn't care how Hindus would feel about this suggestion of changing the Tamil New Year date. Now, the Govt has ordered the Hindu religious and Endowment Board not to conduct any special pooja on the day of Tamil New year bcos according to Karunanidhi,, its is not celeberated on April 13/14, but on Pongal day. I was shocked to read the article about it.

No political leader has the capacity to solve the pressing issues of India like water, electricity, neat roads, inflation etc., but invariably everyone is sitting in the assembly and discussing about changing names of the cities and dates of the festivities ( of Hindus only). It is ridiculous and if God exists, our dear Karunanidhi should not live long enough to celeberate the coming Pongal/new year 2009. Probably that would teach a lesson for our politicians. If not, then we all know that it is kaliyugam and only Rakshasas like Karunanidhi & his group will have an upper hand in destroying our beautiful India in every possible way.

GPriya

Read what political commentator Cho has to say about the change:

"I suspect that those who endorsed the government’s renaming quest must all be DMK supporters. If this government can do this, it can also announce new names for all the 12 months after Periyar, Anna, Stalin, Azhagiri, Kanimozhi and so on,” - political commentator Cho S. Ramaswamy.
(source from Tamil New Year « THE UNANSWERED CONUNDRUMS).

We celebrated Tamil New year's Day on April 13th according to our culture and traditions. It is so sad that no one is protesting against the change. Only God can save Tamil Nadu.

Hi all my friends
it is quite interesting to go through all your views and expressions regarding the change of tamil new year. It is highly a political drama. people of tamilnadu who celebrate tamil new year will not protest. will nevery protest. if the same thing had been done to the other relegions definitely they would have raised together to fight. Unity! that is missing among us. even if it is going to be implemented by order do you thing people who celebrate on 13th or 14th are going to abide by it. No i bet they/we will celebrate on that day. they cannot stop it know?

Hi friends,
How right you all are!! How can anyone change the new years day which is based on calculations .RantOnly we tamilians are so docile and did not protest. Where did the BJP Tamilnadu go; what abt. other political parties and hindu religious leaders, why were they all so quiet except Chobonk. It is absolutely silly to change T.New year day. Of course everyone celebrated Ap. 13th only. But it is so sad that panjangam was not allowed on that day, to be read in the temple. The cm had no right to inpose restrictions like this. It is outrageous- he could follow horoscopes and wear yellow shawl for luck- but appavi hindu cannot follow his taditional almanac. Yes only God almighty can teach him a lesson.
