Hi to all,
The opinions to be expressed by me is expressed by you all friends....
Now i got the reason, why they announced in Suntv that it is their 16th year celebration and not Tamil New Year celebration....but the companies that sponsored did wish the audience a Tamil New Year...maybe the managment didn't notice that....

when they want to divert people from any ongoing issues which is of importance, they do some insane things like this....

Talking Re: Change of Tamil new year's date !!!

hi
What Chief Minister Karunanidhi said is totally wrong. It is not so easy to change the festival day which we are celebrating from our ancestors period.
But we educated persons can show our opposition to his ideas but it is not nice to read open statements like he should not live for the next tamil new year it looks ugly(by telling this it doesn't mean that I am supporting him I too don't like this)

bye

Hi All,

Nice opinions, all tamil hindus are against it

Our hindu calendar year(panchangam) beings from chithirai only and not on thai, based on that only all horoscopes, functions festivals everything is decided and fixed.

Totally 60 tamil years are there , suppose if somebody born in sarvadhari year his 60th bday is celebrated on the calendar year sarvadhari only after the completion of all 60 year cycles. This significance is called as "shastiapthapoorthi" and celebrated in a grand manner.

I came to know through my parents that in meenaskhi temple, kapaleeswarar temple and in all major temples special poojai and abeshegam were not permitted for this tamil new year.

On this auspicious chithirai thirunaal, panchangam is read in temples and reading and listening to panchangam has got a high religious significance.

This year i came to know that even reading panchangam is banned in temples and in nellaiappar temple panchangam was read and it became a news.

In andra ugadi is considered as an important festival, in kerala vishu is an important festival, and so is baisaki, bihu, gudipadwa. Every state has its own culture and have their own calendar year for everything, none of the state passes bills against the cultural traditions of their people.

In tamil Nadu I dont know why Govt is interfering in the cultural traditions, hinduism is a way of life, I wish the bill is not passed.

Above all for any functions in CM's family or his tv they see auspicious dates which is based on tamil panchangam begining from the calendar month chithirai only.

So the bill got passed huh?

Wow.. I thought he had just proposed it ?

aahhhhhhh

XYZ, only because we hindus think so softy each time like this... people are grinding chillies in our heads..

Do you think a muslim or Christian would be very calm and content when they change something on their beliefs...

hindus were always taken for granted.. Hope JJ wins next election and revert this stupidity if its a law already..

How come temples are controlled so much by the Govt... Its God's place...

I always hated JJ for eating away all peoples money.. but for this stupid.. I really wish she comes to the throne...

we will worry about her stupidity later ;)

All over India, bashing Hinduism for vote bank has become a common phenomenon. Politicians want to create a divide and rule policy (a great gift to India by the British) so that the common people are not united for any reason. If common people get united, then they all together will raise questions on politicians’ shortcomings on various issues. By and large common people of all religion live together harmoniously. People should understand this game and especially Hindus should start opposing for laws that affect our faith of our religion.

On one side they give public speeches that caste should go away and on other side they want to bring in quotas and further divide caste system so that people are always caught in this divide and rule policy.

When Adi Shankaracharya was born, Buddhism was very prominent all over India and Shankaracharya traveled length and breadth of India to regain faith in Hinduism. Now it looks like all that effort is becoming a laughing stock. This can happen, only because we Hindus are not united as in other religions.

Regards,
Vijaya

also they changed the law wrongly following TN.
Yes vidhya,
you are very correct. When the sun moves to Mesha rasi that is no 1, after he completes his single round. On that day only we are celeberating Tamil New Year.
If they want to celeberate the 'valluvar calander' for Tamil Nadu let them do it. Why they and who are they to interfere in our traditions? Like others said, whether he is having guts to change other religion functions? But even other so called leaders also didnot care about this issue. Many Hindus org. are in Tamil Nadu and they also keeping quite. Why?
